Dig In! asks families to host an Empty Bowls meal this year and share what they can to keep our gardens growing
Dig In! will not host a public Empty Bowls event in 2020 to protect the health and wellbeing of our neighbors. Instead, we’re asking folks to host a meal in their homes to reflect on the root causes of hunger in our communities and give to Dig In! to keep our community gardens growing.
We’re designating September 2020 as our Dig In! Empty Bowls Month.
If you would like to host a meal, please visit our Dig In Yancey (DIY) Empty Bowls Website. We’ll share ideas and information about Empty Bowl kits that include handcrafted bowls, dinner discussion cards, bouquets from the garden, ways to share recipes and photos from your event, and how your guests can make a gift to grow our gardens that ensure everyone eats well, especially during hard times.
Stay tuned to our website and social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram for more information and ideas about hosting your own Empty Bowls Meal.
