This season, we invite friends and neighbors to our garden on Saturdays for a series of all-ages events for skill sharing and community building! The events will typically be on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month at our West Yancey garden, though some will vary in location or date.
The next Saturday in the Garden event is a pre-Mother’s Day song circle from 1-4 pm on Saturday, May 10 at our garden (744 Blankenship Creek Rd). Yancey County resident April Rainsong will be leading the song circle, and attendees can also contribute to painting a mural with mountains, flowers, veggies, and more inside one of the small outbuildings at the garden. Bring a potluck dish or a picnic lunch to share!
Other upcoming events include a biochar production workshop (a climate-friendly way to sequester carbon using woody debris), garlic planting, tool repair cafe, and a flower painting workshop. Most of the events are completely free and open to all ages. These events are an opportunity to cultivate new connections and share learning, joyfulness, art, and more in our beautiful garden.
Learn more about each event’s details on the Events page of our website. It’s also a good idea to check our social media for last minute updates.
