Congratulations to the “Magic Cornholers” Randall (Tree) Rountree and BJ McCurry of Burnsville for winning Dig In! Yancey Community Garden’s “Cornament” on Saturday, September 7. They beet 5 other teams to take home a one-of-a-kind pickle goblet made by Loretta Forde of Forde Wilson Glass. Teams came from as far away as Tennessee to corn-pete in the tournament. The Cob Fathers (Rick Biel and Greg Lawrence of Burnsville, NC) and Corn to be Wild (Randy and Terry Tucker) were awarded prizes for Corniest Team Names.
