We will also discuss “invasive” plants and the challenges and opportunities they bring. We will also discuss possible solutions for weed control without chemicals. DESCRIPTION:The Dig In/4-H Garden Club will meet from 3-5 pm on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month\, April 22 through the end of October at our Blankenship Garden.\n\nThrough this club\, kids work together to plant and tend a dedicated children’s garden space. Activities include preparing snacks from the fresh garden produce\, nature crafts\, and using 4-H curriculum to engage in more dedicated explorations around bugs\, soil\, plant parts\, or wherever the kids’ curiosity takes us!\n\nAll ages are welcome. Registering for 4-H is encouraged but not required. Sign up for 4-H here: https://v2.4honline.com/#/user/sign-up. If children will not be enrolled in 4-H\, parents are required to stay during club meeting times; please email kavita@diginyancey.org to enroll.

DESCRIPTION:Plant Swap\nWednesday\, May 20 from 4-6 PM\nHomeplace\, 321 West Main Street \nWe invite our community to join Dig In Yancey Community Garden at Homeplace on May 20 for a plant swap from 4-6 pm. A plant swap is like a potluck–bring extra plant starts that you have*\, set them out\, and take home some plants others have brought. Vegetable plants\, perennials\, cuttings\, seeds\, and houseplants are all welcome. We will be sharing extra starts from the Dig In garden\, and look forward to seeing what our friends and neighbors bring\, too. Because through generosity we build abundance! \nPlease bring your plants\, cuttings\, seeds\, and whatnot\, plus boxes to take things home in. We also ask that you please take responsibility for your un-swapped materials at the end of the evening.
