We’ll also take some time to have fun in the garden making flower mandalas\, painting colorful murals in the outhouse\, hula hooping\, playing games\, and possibly building a bonfire if weather permits. \nWhat to bring: clippers/hand pruners\, camp chairs or picnic blankets\, games\, potluck dish or drinks\, and personal dishes/utensils to help us cut down on waste. \nSign ups aren’t required\, but they are the best way for us to contact you if the plan changes due to weather or other circumstances.

Come at 9:30 to learn about how we cut & care for our blooms including dahlias\, zinnias\, amaranth\, tithonia\, gladiolus\, celosia\, gomphrena\, echinacea\, and more. Join at 10:30 for a flower arranging demo and lesson with local artist Hannah Wood\, then create a beautiful large bouquet of late summer flowers to take home. \nParticipants are welcome to bring a bagged lunch to eat together after the workshop. A suggested investment of $10-30 helps to support Dig In’s food growing and sharing programs in Yancey County. Sign up below. \n\nHannah Wood is a designer in many facets\, and has loved working with flowers all of her life. She finds wisdom for living in flowers\, and arranging them is a way to unwind and be delighted by their endless diversities. DESCRIPTION:Join us for our weekly walk-up no-cost markets. In partnership with TRACTOR Food and Farms and Reconciliation House\, we offer produce and eggs sourced from our gardens\, home gardens throughout the county\, and over 30 local farms free of charge. We also exchange cooking tips\, recipes\, and ways to care for ourselves and each other. \nWe encourage folks to bring their own bags to reduce waste\, although we will have bags available for us. We also encourage folks to continue the community care by considering who else might benefit from our produce and bringing home bags for multiple households. Everyone is welcome!
