SUMMARY:Empty Bowls Fundraiser 2025
DESCRIPTION:Dig In! Yancey Community Garden invites everyone to celebrate another abundance-filled season of growing and sharing together at the annual Empty Bowls fundraiser on Friday\, October 3 from 4 – 7pm at the Burnsville Town Center.  \nThe Empty Bowl fundraiser is our largest annual fundraiser. It is a part of an international grassroots movement to raise awareness and mobilize resources towards building food security.  \nTickets include a choice of soup\, bread\, dessert\, and a beautiful handcrafted bowl. Soups are prepared by a number of local restaurants\, breads and desserts are donated by local community members\, and the bowls are made by our region’s talented professional artisans. The empty bowl serves as a lasting invitation to create abundance by supporting a vibrant local food system and practicing community care.  \nFor more information about Dig In or the Empty Bowls event (including how to donate bread/desserts or bowls) email us at farmer@diginyancey.org. \nWe deeply appreciate the volunteers who help us make this event a success. SUMMARY:Empty Bowls Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Dig In! Yancey Community Garden invites everyone to celebrate another abundant season of growing and sharing together at our annual Empty Bowls fundraising dinner on October 4 at the Burnsville Town Center. \n\nTickets to the event can be purchased online or at the door. Full price tickets are $40 and come with a choice of soup\, bread\, dessert\, and a beautiful handcrafted bowl. Over a dozen different soups are prepared by local restaurants and caterers\, and a diverse selection of breads and desserts are donated by talent home bakers throughout the county. The bowls are made by regional artisans who have donated their craft so that our gardens flourish with food for everyone. The empty bowl serves as a lasting invitation to fill it with abundance: to support a vibrant local food system and practice community care. We want to make sure this event is for everyone\, so this year we are also offering a kids/food-only ticket for $15.  \nThe food and bowls will be available inside the Burnsville Town Center. There will be limited seating inside the Town Center\, but guests are also welcome to dine at our outside seating area at the Nu Wray Hotel.  \nAs we enjoy the abundance of the season by sharing freshly prepared soups and breads\, we look forward to the opportunity to celebrate the ways our community grows and nurtures together.
