We work together on Tuesdays from 4 to sundown and Thursdays 9-1PM during the growing season.
Everyone is welcome!
No matter how many birthdays you’ve had, where you were born or what you do for a living, you can work and play with us at Dig In!. There’s important work to do together: gardening, Harvest Table events, building, writing, cooking and fundraising. When we speak with people about volunteering with Dig In!, most assume that we mean weeding, digging, planting, harvesting – the usual garden chores. We DO need people for these tasks, BUT we also need people with skills for plumbing, carpentry, stonework, grading, design, community outreach, garden education, fundraising, and many other things!
Think of your skill sets as more than just your hands and what you can do with them. Do you like to get community members pumped up while wearing a carrot costume and dancing to live Appalachian folk music? Are you an amazing cook who’d love to spend a few hours hosting a cooking demo with our Mobile Kitchen at a Harvest Table? Tell us about it. We’d LOVE to hear from you.
To volunteer, or to find out how you can help in other ways, keep reading! And contact us via email or stop by the garden on a Work Together day this season. We can’t wait to meet you!
Work Together in the Garden
Come out to Dig In! from April – October on Tuesdays from 4PM to sundown and Thursdays from 9 AM-1 PM. Watch our calendar and Facebook page for additional Work Together days at the garden.
Harvest Tables and Food Distribution
We need hosts who set-up and help share food at Harvest Tables. We also need volunteers to pick-up and deliver food to our partners on a weekly basis.
Talents of All Kinds
We need a social media volunteer, a mechanic, a builder, and volunteer/social events coordinators. Do you have a talent not listed here? Your contribution will be appreciated.
Dig In! seeks persons of all ages, backgrounds and skill sets to contribute to our leadership circle.
